Everything you need to know about working with One Nine — how we’re different, insurance, your first visit, and getting started. Still have a question? Call or text us.
Every session is one full hour, one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy — never an aide or tech. There’s no waiting room and no being passed off. We use objective tools like force plates and dynamometers to measure progress and clear athletes for return to sport based on data, not guesswork.
No. California is a direct-access state, so you can begin physical therapy at One Nine without a physician’s referral. The simplest first step is a free 15-minute consultation with one of our Doctors of Physical Therapy.
One Nine is a cash-based, out-of-network clinic, which lets every session stay 1-on-1 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy — no rushed double-booking. We provide superbills you can submit to your insurer for out-of-network reimbursement, and we handle the paperwork so you don’t have to.
Your first visit is a full hour, one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We take a detailed history, watch how you move, run objective tests where relevant, and build your initial plan — then start treatment the same day. You’ll leave understanding what’s driving your issue and what the path back looks like.
It depends on your injury and goals, and we’ll give you an honest estimate after your first visit. Because every session is a full hour with a doctor — not a rushed, double-booked slot — most people need fewer visits than they expect.
No. We work with athletes of every level, but also active adults, weekend warriors, surfers, cyclists, runners, and golfers — anyone who wants to move and live without pain. The same 1-on-1, root-cause approach applies to everyone.
We treat sports injuries of all kinds — ACL and knee injuries, ligament sprains, muscle strains, tendonitis, rotator cuff and shoulder issues, back and neck pain, and post-surgical rehab. Our patients range from high school, collegiate, and elite athletes to active adults, surfers, cyclists, runners, golfers, and tennis players.
You can book online through Jane, or call or text us at (858) 848-6639. You’re welcome to request a specific Doctor of Physical Therapy — each provider’s bio in our team section links straight to their booking calendar.
